Welcome to the Hermitage Restaurant

The Hermitage Restaurant and Public House is situated on the A1064 approximately 500 yards from the A47 Acle Roundabout. It is a Family owned and run establishment by Chris Carter who is the Proprietor. The Hermitage has been a licensed premises for approximately 110 years during 2003 the premises was refurbished with new Kitchens and a Conservatory Restaurant Seating approximately 60 persons.

Today the menu is largely Fresh Fish and Fresh Shellfish with a Speciality Steak Menu. Chris Carter and his family have been associated with the Fish Trade from Great Yarmouth since 1922. He personally goes to Lowestoft fish market 2 or 3 times a week and buys fresh fish. He uses the Friary Family from Wells on Sea in North Norfolk for his fresh Lobsters and Crabs During the winter months the mussels come from Morston or the Wash.

The Lunch men has a variety of fish on including Fresh Cod, Haddock, Plaice £8.25 or Monk Fish £11.95 Herrings £5.85.

For the pensioner we serve 1 Plaice Fillet Chips & Peas £4.95.

There is also a snack menu with Jacket Potatoes Sandwiches etc. The Evening Menu has at least 12/15 Fresh Fish Dishes a lot of which the menus and receipts we have created ourselves. A sample of which are the following:

These are only a few of the dishes we provide and all are subject to available and Market price variation. We make vegetarian specials to order on the day and a lot of our sweets are home made at £3.95. Coffee is £1.25.

We can accommodate parties in the conservatory and the main Restaurant. Please ask for our party menu.
